GET INVOLVED

There are so many ways to connect at Kol Dorot —social groups, learning, mitzvah work, and more. At every age and stage of life, community is about being together.

Here are some examples:

Caring Committee - The Caring Community helps congregants in time of loss, illness and other challenges. We attend shiva and prepare meals in time of illness and recovery. We welcome all congregants to join us in performing these acts of kindness.

Communications Committee - We work with all the KD committees and communities; managing our website, posting on social media (FB and IG), sharing news with area publishers, and creating materials for members and prospective members.

Couples Community - Connecting couples in their 20s and 30s; we welcome any and all committed couples with at least one Jewish partner, inclusive of Jews by choice, Jews of color, interfaith, interracial and LGBTQIA.

Empty Nesters - We are a group for Kol Dorot empty (or nearly empty) nesters interested in building a new community to make friends and enjoy activities together as we embrace a new phase in our lives.

Membership Committee - We recruit, retain, and engage Kol Dorot members to foster community, promote Jewish learning and enrich our spiritual experience.

Men's Club - The Men's Club strives to incorporate Judaism in our lives through community service, tzedakah, and social gatherings. From poker nights, lectures, and watching MNF at a local bar, to building the sukkah and celebrating Chanukkah, we have events that inspire, entertain, and educate.

Mishloah Manot - We're a three-in-one celebration of Purim: community building, fundraising, and fulfillment of the mitzvah to exchange gifts of food within the Jewish community. We create and deliver themed holiday gift bags to everybody in the Kol Dorot community.

Music, Music, Music - Our Junior Choir (Grades 2-7) performs at Shabbat services and other special events, the Adult High Holy Day Choir adds to the majesty and beauty of our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur prayer services, and the Kol Dorot Worship Band brings musicians together to add spirit to our worship.

Religious School Committee - We support the Religious School by helping plan, promote and develop activities that enrich the school such as the Purim Carnival, Annual Pancake Breakfast, and End of Year BBQ.

Ritual Committee - The Ritual Committee works as a conduit to the Rabbi and Cantor to discuss and give input on all aspects of the congregation's religious life.

Social Justice CommitteeWe're committed to tikkun olam - repairing the world – through community engagement.

Torah Study - Learn and discuss every Shabbat morning

Women of Kol Dorot - Women of Kol Dorot aspires to create a warm, inclusive “sisterhood” among women of all ages. We support our congregation and entire community through programming, fundraising, social activities and social advocacy.

If you'd like to join of our our groups or you're looking for something that you don't see, give us a call or send us a note. We look forward to discussing your ideas!
