The word Zionism is today frequently misunderstood. In order to clarify its meaning, this course will trace the creation of the movement for the establishment of a Jewish State within their historical homeland of the Land of Israel, and the development and protection of the State of Israel. We will examine some of the internal ideological conflicts and regional challenges to the Zionist idea.
